Product Description

Description: Desert Tech MDR Semi Auto Rifle, 5.56mm/.223, 16″ Black. The Micro Dynamic Rifle (MDR) from Desert Tech is designed and manufactured to the highest performance standards to provide the user with a fully capable long rifle in a compact urban form factor. With a bullpup design and a 16″ barrel chambered in .223 Wylde (.223 Rem/5.56x45mm), this black finished chassis rifle boasts ambidextrous controls and 30 round capacity P-MAG magazine. The well balanced and modern design of this rifle gives the shooter excellent target acquisition, maneuverability, and comfort in the field. The MDR is the future of urban rifle design, being far shorter than any conventional rifle of similar power. Desert Tech rifles are proudly made in the USA.

The MDR is designed for future defense needs. Its compact size and superior ergonomics maximize its portability without sacrificing speed, power, or precision. The MDR allows mission specific adaptability by changing the rifle’s length, sound signature, and/or caliber. Its fully-ambidextrous design allows seamless shoulder transitions.

Installed is a 3 pronged muzzle device on this rifle using the 1/2″ x 28 threading. Ready for both muzzle breaks and over-the-barrel suppressors, the use of these devices are designed to increase accuracy, shooter recovery, and reduced recoil. Accuracy improves due to the Desert Tech design which immediately strips excess gases away from projectiles.

Stainless steel floating barrel with a black finish. The 16″ barrel seats further back with the bullpup design to increase balance which noticeably improves accuracy as a result.

The free-floated hand-guard fits seamlessly into the MDR design and provides a continued Picatinny rail on top of the rifle as well as an accessory / vent system.

With the MDR’s bullpup design, the rifle expels spent brass via a forward eject that can be configured to eject to either the right (default) or left side of the firearm..

The ambidextrous safety switch easily actuated from firing position.

The non-slip cheek piece on the stock provides a more comfortable shouldering of the firearm.

The MDR upper receiver, along with the handguard, features nearly 14″ of Picatinny rail to install any number of sighting accessories.

This 16″ barrel is free floated within the handguard and features an installed 3 prong muzzle brake. The free floating barrel provides better heat dispersion and quicker caliber conversion when out in the field.

The bullpup design of the MDR combines both the long range accuracy of a full sized rifle with the compact urban chassis of a mid range gun. The balance and overall maneuverability of the rifle increase with this futuristic and modern design.

Is The Tavor 7 Accurate?

Their main clients are military, and the civilian market is just a secondary after-thought for them, the same way it is for Steyr. If you remember the issue about the super-heavy triggers on the original Tavor, which were designed so that 18 year old conscripts don’t shoot their feet off.

They actually installed the lighter trigger for the military Tavors back inbefore the Tavor was even released in the US. But in the US, they only installed them in the X inwhen some members of their US marketing misleadingly said they were doing it because they were listening to civilian customers.
